A long avenue of royal palms leads through the estate to open lawns, the bandstand and some of the oldest specimen trees in Jamaica.
Palm Avenue is the historic axis of the Hope estate — a double row of royal palms that draws the eye straight through the gardens.
The great lawns on either side host concerts, festivals and family picnics, shaded by specimen trees that have stood for well over a century.
Keeping these veteran trees healthy — and replacing those lost to storms — is a permanent part of the Foundation's work.
